Introduction

I work with each couple to tailor the ceremony to their liking. This is their special day and they need to be able to profess their mutual love and commitment in a way that reflects their beliefs, personalities and dedication to each other. It is very rewarding to assist couples in professing their love and commitment in front of those who matter the most in their lives. For most, this is the most significant day of their lives and it is a privilege to help them through the process in a comfortable and memorable manner.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing tends to be more reasonable than other officiants. Prospective clients and I discuss the specifics in our first conversation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually the clients and I have a telephone conversation during which we discuss their particular circumstance and expectations for a wedding ceremony. Typically, we are able to design the framework of the ceremony during that call. I then put together a ceremony with their specifications and any of my suggestions to which they have agreed. Sometimes we exchange emails concerning certain details or changes which they request. The process is relatively simple and quite efficient.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Being in education and management for many years has provided me with the skills to work with couples effectively. Empathy, organization and a love for providing this service to them are the key elements to success.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was drawn to this ministry by the need of two very dear friends who wished to be married but had no where to turn for a ceremony that reflected their private religious beliefs. Uncomfortable in a traditional church setting, they simply desired to exchange their vows with family and close friends in a familiar setting. I was able to provide the service they were looking for. Referrals from that wedding launched a very rewarding career.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types! Everyone should have a wedding ceremony that fits their needs and desires. Being able to offer ceremonies in Spanish has also proved to be helpful.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I was very pleased to be able to step in and officiate at the wedding of a friend's daughter. The original officiant was unable to fulfill his contract and the couple was quite upset. We were able to quickly meet, work on the ceremony and all went very well. I was really happy to relieve this stress for the bride and groom.
